Happy Friday! I recently finished A Girl Called Ari by P.J. Sky a dystopian novel.
Starla is the mayor's daughter and is kidnapped on her birthday and sent to the wasteland. The exiled lands that no one comes back from...
Ari has lived on the outside for many seasons and does what she has to in order to survive.
When both of their lives come together, they start out on an interesting journey.
This novel reminded me a lot of Imposters by Scott Westerfeld (another dystopian novel I read this year). Without the evil dictator, A Girl Called Ari, still had some similar elements, vast journey, learning who to trust, and treachery if in the wrong hands.
There were originally some changes in POV from first to third within the same page that threw me off, but overall the story was good. Check out my full review on Goodreads here:
Stay tuned for next week's review/recommendation. Happy Fourth!
Always,
Marie
